Titusville firefighters help rescue baby crane hit by car
TITUSVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Titusville firefighters helped rescue a baby Sandhill Crane that was hit by a car on Saturday.
In a post on Facebook, first responders wrote: "At approximately 5:30 pm today Battalion 2, Truck & Rescue 13 responded to a report of a vehicle accident. Enroute there was a report of a large bird involved. On arrival 2 vehicles were involved and a small sand hill crane was found with a bystander who had it wrapped in a towel. Our personnel took over and stayed with the bird, ultimately transporting it back to the station to await a representative from WILD Florida Rescue. The bird was taken with what appeared to be a broken leg. We will update the condition of the young sand hill crane when we know more. #titusvillefire #wehelpanimalstoo #since1913"
