Two killed in North Philadelphia row home fire

Two people have died following a fast-moving row home fire in North Philadelphia Thursday morning.

Flames tore through a home on the 1300 block of West Toronto Street just after midnight.

Crews arrived on scene to find heavy flames coming from the first floor of the home and were able to place the fire under control within about 30 minutes.

Fire officials say one of the victims was found dead inside of the home, and a second victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where they later died.

The fire was contained to a single home and neighboring properties were not affected.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
