Two killed in Point Breeze blaze

Crews are investigating the cause of a fire that left two people dead Friday night in South Philadelphia.

The fire broke out at a home on the 1700 block of Moore Street around 11:30 p.m.

Philadelphia police confirmed two people were found dead inside the home by fire crews as they searched the home. The victims were identified as an adult male and an adult female.

Investigators say the fire started in the third flood bedroom, and that there were six smoke detectors in the house. None of the detectors had working batteries.

Police are still investigating at this time.
