Two SEPTA employees hospitalized from gas main break

Authorities are investigating a gas odor coming from a manhole on Windsor St.

SEPTA released information Wednesday saying that two of their employees responded to the scene for a gas odor.

According to SEPTA, fire came up from the manhole when the employees approached it.

Both employees were taken to Penn-Presbyterian hospital. SEPTA says one of them was released, but the other has since been taken to Temple hospital for further treatment on a burn injury.

The injury is reported serious but non life-threatening.

SEPTA's spokesman says the cause of the gas issues are still under investigation by PGW.
