Victims Identified in Fatal Southampton Bus Crash

NEW JERSEY (WTXF) New Jersey State police say two men were killed after a vehicle collided with a bus Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews rushed to a deadly scene in Southampton New Jersey around 5:00 Tuesday evening. A school bus full of Lenape High School students and a car collided on Pemberton Road near Ridge Road.

"What we have is a Volkswagen Passat crossed into path of bus and we had head on collision," said Sergeant Joseph Little with New Jersey State Police.

The driver and passenger, both men, in the Volkswagen were killed. 20 students, members of the Lenape High Swim Team were on the bus along with two coaches and the driver. Police say 8 students were taken to Virtua Hospital along with one adult woman on the bus. They complained of back and neck pain. Troopers say the crash happened in the bus's lane in a no passing zone.

"Preliminary investigation shows we have a witness statement that cities a possibility of speed and improper passing being the cause on the Volkswagen," said Sergeant Little.

The victims have been identified as Michael Razzano, 49, of Browns Mills, NJ, and Sean McNaughton, 41, of Medford, NJ. Police say Razzano was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.

The road has since been reopened.
