Video shows two men robbing Upper Kensington grocery store at gunpoint

Philadelphia Police are searching for two men who robbed a grocery store in Upper Kensington last week.

The incident occurred at the El Gallo Grocery Story located at 118 East Tioga Street on December 23 at 9:18 p.m.

Two unknown males entered the store, pointing handguns at a 34-year-old male employee, demanding money.

One suspect forced a 29-year-old male customer on the floor.

After taking the customer's cell phone and $20 from a third victim - a 34-year-old female - suspect #2 went behind the counter and took an undetermined amount of money while suspect #1 stated "shoot him in the leg."

Both suspects then fled the store on foot and were last seen east on the 100 block of Tioga Street.

Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, 5'7", with a stocky build, 210 pounds, wearing a ski mask, black Nike hooded jacket, black pants, and black boots.

Suspect #2 is described as a male with a light complexion, a thin build, 185 pounds, wearing a black scarf around his face, a black windbreaker, black pants, and black sneakers.

Police have had quite a bit of success in 2015 using surveillance video like this to solve crimes. Over 400 cases were closed after surveillance video was released to the public on the police department's YouTube channel.
