Water main break leads to street collapse in South Philly; 60 homes without water

Crews are on the scene of a water main break in South Philadelphia, which has left dozens of homes without water.

An eight-inch water main break led the 1100 block of Dickinson Street to collapse. Around 60 homes are without water as of Wednesday morning.

Officials say Dickinson Street will be closed from 12th Street until further notice.

Due to a water department construction project, Wharton Street is closed at Broad. Motorists attempting to travel east from Broad Street are encouraged to use Washington Avenue or Morris Street.
