Weather Authority: Windy Monday with cooler temps

Strong thunderstorms that brought heavy rain, gusty winds and even Tornado Warnings to parts of our area overnight have now moved off the coast.

Our entire area had been under a Tornado Watch that was allowed to expire before sunrise for shore communities as the cold front moved north and east, off the coast.

The early-morning storms did leave behind some road flooding, wind damage and power outages.

Now, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the entire FOX 29 viewing area from noon until 10 p.m.

FOX 29's Sue Serio says to expect sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph from lunchtime into the evening.
