Wisconsin teacher makes $22 million milk run

MILWAUKEE (KMSP) -A run to the store for some milk turned into one Wisconsin man's multi-million-dollar fortune. Former high school teacher John Rumpel won $22.2 million dollars in the Megabucks drawing.

Rumpel said he bought the ticket May 30 after his wife asked him to pick up a gallon of milk.

"I flipped on the news and saw that the winning ticket was sold in Milwaukee," he said. "I looked up and saw this convenience store on there and said oh man that might be me."

Rumpel's jackpot is the biggest Megabucks prize since the game began in 1992. He chose to take the cash option of $15.7 million.
