Woman charged with stabbing man 77 times, setting fire to home

Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a woman after they say she stabbed a man 77 times before setting fire to his home.

Tina Marie Vanderhorst, 52, has been charged in the death of 64-year-old Robert Lynch.

Back on September 12 th , officers responded to an early morning fire on the 500 block of East Church Lane. When they arrived, Philadelphia Firefighters informed the officers they had put out a fire inside an apartment, where they located the deceased Lynch.

Investigators found Lynch's body in the advanced stages of decomposition, and say it had also been burned in the fire.

An autopsy determined Lynch had been stabbed as many as 77 times, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Vanderhorst was arrested by detectives Thursday, and has been charged with Murder, Robbery, Arson, Causing a Catastrophe, and related offenses.
