Woman, child struck by driver in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - A woman and a child were struck by a vehicle on Saturday night in West Philadelphia.

The accident happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the corner of 52nd Street and Chestnut Street.

The child was transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is listed in stable condition.

The woman was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where she is stable.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene as emergency responders arrived. Police continue to investigate the accident.
