Allen Iverson named 2016 NBA Hall of Fame finalist

Allen Iverson has been named a finalist this year for the NBA's Hall of Fame.

The 40-year-old former Sixer is a headliner on the finalist list along with Shaquille O'Neal.

Iverson had an extremely successful run in the NBA. He ranks 23 rd in NBA history racking up 24,368 points, 11 all-star appearances, two of those as MVP, he was named NBA MVP in 2001, and reached the NBA Finals in the 2000-01 season.

24 Hall of Famers and members of the media are part of the committee that will vote on the finalists. 18-plus votes ensure a spot on the coveted list.

Inductees will be announced on April 4, 2016 at the NCAA's Final Four.
