Eagles prepping for first preseason game, 7pm at the Linc

We're finally less than 12 hours away from kickoff. The Eagles play their first preseason game at 7pm, hosting the Tampa Bay Bucs at Lincoln Financial Field.

FOX 29's Bob Kelly reports SEPTA will be running extra Broad Street subway trains.

The FOX 29 Weather Authority's Sue Serio says to expect 88 degrees, with humid and sticky conditions, for kickoff. Then, it'll feel like 90 about the time the game is over.

As usual this time of year, some vets will not be playing while new players try to earn a job. More than 20 new players could be on the field for the Eagles. New quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to play in the second half.

There will also be new coaches.

New head coach Doug Pederson, a former quarterback and offensive coordinator will be calling the plays for his three quarterbacks.

"One, offensively from a speed standpoint of calling the plays directly to the quarterback from myself. That is probably the biggest issue," he says. "And then it just keeps you so in tune to the game. You're focused not only offensively, but when the defense is back out there you are looking at how your players are playing. You're kind of that quarterback on the sideline. Being in that position for so many years has led me to be in this position on game day."

Pederson will script opening plays for all the quarterbacks.

Oh, and the eagles are a three-point favorite.
