Reports: Eagles, Dolphins trade to go through as planned
According to reports, a proposed trade between the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins could go through as planned, following reports that the deal was 'dead.'
Byron Maxwell's agent has announced on Twitter that Maxwell passed his physical, allowing the trade to continue as planned.
ESPN reported Wednesday morning that the deal was nearly called off due to injury concerns with cornerback Byron Maxwell, the Eagles starting cornerback last year.
ESPN's Ed Werder and Christ Mortensen cited sources saying a shoulder injury that sidelined Maxwell for the final two games of 2015 may have been the cause for concern with the trade.
The trade reportedly involves the Eagles sending Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Dolphins in exchange for undisclosed draft picks, which may have included a swap of first round picks, moving the Eagles up to pick number 8.
FOX 29's Howard Eskin now cites sources in Miami, saying the trade should go through as Maxwell is expected to pass his physical in Florida.
Eskin reported earlier in the day that Byron Maxwell told the Eagles his shoulder was okay after the season.
