Sixers' top draft pick loses cousin in hit and run

Family members say the cousin of Ben Simmons, who was picked first by the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA draft, has died after being struck while crossing a street in a North Jersey neighborhood.

Zachary Simmons, 21, died after being struck early Saturday in Hoboken.

Ben Simmons posted a picture with his cousin at Thursday's draft on Twitter. That was just two days before another tweet saying "RIP Zachary Simmons" and "I'm glad I could share this moment in my life with you."

Authorities say the sport utility vehicle that struck the Ramsey man got away. Police are still searching for that vehicle.
