Temple/Notre Dame Game Headed to Prime Time

We already knew that the undefeated Temple football team had sold out its game against Notre Dame Halloween night. Now, we know that the game will have a network primetime showcase.

The October 31 game between the Owls and the Fighting Irish will kick off at 8 p.m. on ABC, according to an announcement from the Temple athletic department.

Earlier in the day, it was announced that the 6-0 Owls had been ranked in the top 25 nationally for the first time in nearly 40 years, coming in at #22 in the Associated Press poll and #24 in the coaches poll. The 6-1 Irish are ranked 11 th in the AP poll.

Last week, Temple announced that the Notre Dame game, which did not yet have a kickoff time, had sold out Lincoln Financial Field, marking the first time Temple had sold out two games in a season in South Philadelphia.

"This is tremendous exposure for our Temple Football program and it is well-deserved recognition for the job Matt Rhule has done with this team," Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft said in the press release. "We look forward to having the rest of the country see Temple Football play against an elite program like Notre Dame on a national stage."
