Area schools announce closings, delays due to wintry conditions

PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - A number of schools have announced closures and delays Tuesday due to expected wintry conditions.

Tuesday will see some mixed winter precipitation, possibly early. Rain will change to a wintry mix, then to snow late this afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. through midnight for several counties in the area.

There won't be much accumulation along the I-95 corridor. North and west of Philadelphia should see higher accumulation.

Temperatures will reach a high of 41 degrees Tuesday ahead of bitter cold for the remainder of the week.
