Excessive heat watches in effect Wednesday, marginal risk for storms

If you were hoping Wednesday may bring some relief from Tuesday's heat, you'll have to wait a few more days. Wednesday is very likely to mark the second day of another potential heat wave this week.

Wednesday is going to be hot and humid with a high of 92 degree with a heat index between 100-105 degrees.

FOX 29's Sue Serio says Wednesday marks the start of the dangerous heat, and added that you'll need to really take care of yourself, your family, and your pets.

There is a marginal risk of severe to strong thunderstorms later on Wednesday afternoon and later in the evening as some thunderstorms move our way from the west.

Thursday looks to be the most oppressive and hot day of the heat wave, as it will likely mark the third day of highs in the 90s, making the heat wave official. The heat index for Thursday will be up in the triple digits at 104 degrees.

Along with the heat, Thursday will also bring our next chance for some rain, with a possibility of pop-up showers and thunderstorms.

The heat wave isn't expected to last any longer than three days for now, with Friday bringing things back down into the 80s, with more rain possible.

So, as we get ready for the heat, stay cool and hydrated!
