Weather Authority: Heat wave to continue Thursday, relief coming Friday

Thursday is expected to be the final day of a four-day heat wave with some relief on the way Friday.

A cold front is expected to make its way through the Philadelphia area Thursday without bringing too much moisture with it.

FOX 29's Sue Serio says some areas can expect to see some pop-up showers and storms Thursday evening. The front is expected to stall to the south, leaving us with a bit of an unsettled weekend when it comes to rain.

Friday will cool things off with a high of 79 degrees and a shower possible. Saturday will be more of the same with a high of 82 and a chance of a shower as the Temple Owls kick off their football season at Lincoln Financial Field against Villanova at noon.

Sunday will be a little milder with highs in the mid-80s before things really start to heat up again come Monday.
