Stallone Eyes Sequel to Creed

Creed, last year's spinoff movie to the Rocky franchise that was filmed largely in Philadelphia, was a huge critical and box office success. Now, it seems like another sequel is on the way.

Sylvester Stallone, who played Rocky in all seven films to date, said in an interview with Variety that he is "batting around ideas" with Creed director Ryan Coogler about a sequel. One option is a direct sequel in which Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) battles a new opponent. Another, according to the interview, is a "Godfather Part II" riff set in the past, with Rocky and Apollo Creed.

MGM's CEO says in the interview that "There's no doubt that we're making a 'Creed 2.'"

Coogler might not return as director- he's reportedly in negotiations to direct a Marvel universe film- but either way he will serve as executive producer.
