1 dead, 1 critical after driver crashes into pole on Roosevelt Boulevard

A woman has died and another is in critical condition following an overnight crash on Roosevelt Boulevard.

Officers responded to the crash just after 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say a woman was driving a 2005 Hyundai northbound when she struck a pole at the intersection of Bustleton Avenue.

A passenger in the vehicle, later identified as 35-year-old Brenda Singleton, was prononuced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
