1 dead, 4 injured in two separate Philadelphia shootings overnight

A violent night in Philadelphia has left one man dead and four others injured Thursday morning.

The first shooting happened around midnight, when two people were shot on the 2700 block of West Luzerne Street in the city's Hunting Park neighborhood.

One victim was shot in the head and the other was shot in the torso. Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Police are also investigating a triple shooting that happened just after 2 a.m. on the 2200 block of South 58th Street near Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

Officers arrived on scene and found only shell casings before a witness confirmed there had been a shooting. Police were later notified about three men who were undergoing treatment at hospitals in both Philadelphia and Upper Darby.

One man, a 35-year-old was shot in the face and chest and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A 27-year-old man remains in critical condition after he was shot in the torso, and a 30-year-old is stable after being shot in the hand.

At this point, police say they have no suspects and no motive.
