17 cats, 6 dogs rescued from unsanitary home in Kensington
PHILADELPHIA - Officials are investigating after six dogs and 17 cats were removed from an unsanitary home in Kensington on Tuesday.
The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) responded to the 2000 block of Pacific Street after receiving a tip on its animal cruelty hotline about a large number of animals being kept at the property.
When officers arrived, they found 17 cats, including five 4-week-old kittens, and six dogs, including four puppies under six months old, living in unsanitary conditions.

All of the animals were placed in the care of the PSPCA, where they will be treated and ultimately available for adoption.
This investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
