2 shot to death in Delaware apartment

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WTXF) - Two people are dead after a standoff in a Delaware apartment.

Sunday night, New Castle police officers were called to the Georgetown Manor Apartments for a welfare check and ended up hearing gunshots.

They evacuated the building and spent a few hours on the phone, negotiating with a man who had barricaded himself inside.

Then, officers heard more gunshots. They went inside the apartment and found a man and a woman, both dead.

The investigation is active and ongoing, but police are not actively searching for a suspect.
