4 shot outside bar in East Mount Airy overnight

Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting outside of a bar that left four people injured in East Mount Airy.

The incident occurred on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue around 2:15 a.m.

According to police, a group was inside the bar for an open Mic Night, when an argument broke out and eventually moved outside. The argument continued outside, when an unknown man retrieved a handgun from a red vehicle and then started shooting.

Offices arrived on scene and located several shooting victims. A 26-year-old man was found at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Upsal Street suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and leg. A second 26-year old man was found with a gunshot wound to the hand. Both were taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

A 26-year-old woman who worked in the bar and was trying to break up the argument was shot in the knee. She is listed in stable condition.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the torso and leg, and was transported to the hospital where he was also listed in stable condition.

After speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage, police have described the suspect as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s with dreadlocks. Police believe he may have retrieved a gun from a red or maroon car.

The investigation is ongoing.
