A firefighter receives some puppy love after rescuing a dog from a roof

WELLS, Me. (WTXF) - A firefighter received some puppy love after helping a dog to safety in Wells, Maine over the holiday weekend.

On Sunday, Wells Maine Police posted photos and video showing a dog stuck on the roof before thanking and kissing Capt. Jeff Nawfel for rescuing him.

"This beautiful dog managed to get out onto the roof of his home thru an upstairs window," police said in a Facebook post.

The video shows Nawfel attempting to help the dog go back through the window, but the dog is hesitant to go inside. Eventually, the dog gives Nawfel some kisses before crawling back through the window into the house safe and sound.
