Arrest Made in Hit-and-Run that Killed 9-Year-Old

Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 9-year-old boy in Lehigh County.

Meanwhile, a community is grieving the loss of young Darius Condash, and his family is asking for help to fund the child's funeral.

The crash happened Friday night in Hanover Township.

Police say Darius had just left a store on Schoenersville Road, and had crossed the street. He apparently dropped a bag of candy and went back to pick it up.

That's when he was hit by a car, and that driver took off, leaving the scene, according to police.

Sunday, his aunt spoke to FOX 29, and explained that the family is trying to cope with this horrible loss.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help his family pay for funeral expenses.

Darius was a team captain in one of the local football leagues, and his team played their championship game this afternoon.

The team's coach told says it was a difficult day for everyone.
