Black Passengers Who Were Kicked Off Flight Accuse Airline of Racial Discrimination

Spirit Airlines is being accused of racial discrimination after a group of black passengers were kicked off a flight from Los Angeles to Dallas.

A passenger who shot cell phone video of the incident tells INSIDE EDITION that the ejected passengers hadn't done anything wrong.

The dispute started when one passenger's seat was reportedly double-booked. A flight attendant came over and the man was accused of being disruptive and was ordered off the plane, along with his traveling companion. The man denied any wrongdoing.

"We have witnesses this man wasn't causing any kind of a problem," one passenger said. "We have flight attendants being rude."

Airport police escorted the couple from the plane, passenger Tony Grasso said. When others on the plane came to the man's defense, they, too, were told to get off the jetliner, he said.

Booted passenger Alexandria Wright said: "You hear about this type of stuff happening in America... discrimination issues and stuff like that. But to actually experience it first hand, it's an emotional thing."

No one was arrested in what police are calling a business dispute.

In a statement, Spirit Airlines said: "Four passengers became unruly and were causing trouble with other passengers. The flight crew asked them to stop. When they did not, law enforcement was called and they were removed from the flight."
