Bye-bye Budweiser! It's becoming America beer for 6 months
ST. LOUIS, MO (WTXF) - The self-proclaimed king of beers will be getting a new, more patriotic name for the next six months.
Anheuser-Busch says it's going to replace the Budweiser logo on the drink's iconic label with the word "America" on cans and bottles to make this the "most patriotic summer ever."
The change will be temporary, starting May 23 and going through the November presidential election.
The labels also will feature lines from the Pledge of Allegiance, and lyrics from the Star-Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful.
Don't drink? The "America" cans and bottles will also star in the brand's new TV commercials, starting June 1.
Anheuser-Busch says it hope the "cans and bottles aim to inspire drinkers to celebrate America and Budweiser's shared values of freedom and authenticity."
