Bystander wounded in shootout in Nicetown

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Nicetown that sent an innocent bystander to the hospital.

Officers on patrol heard gunshots and responded to the scene just before 2:00 a.m. on the 1600 block of West Hunting Park Avenue, near the cocktail bar Tasha's.

When officers arrived, armed security guards had detained two suspects, who they say were shooting toward the bar, striking a 22-year-old man.

The victim, was shot and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

The two alleged gunmen were taken into custody by police, and charges are pending further investigation.
