Camden community comes together to help its own
CAMDEN, N.J. (WTXF) - Donations have poured in for five families affected by a devastating fire which tore through a Camden dwelling Thursday morning.
A two-alarm fire broke out on Cedar Street early Thursday morning. Four homes were completely destroyed, and two other homes sustained damage.
Neighbors, members of the Camden City Fire Department, EMS and LEAP Academy University School immediately took action to help the families now without shelter.
On Saturday, Camden Firefighters and Cooper University EMS delivered much-needed gifts, gift cards, toys and other donations for the families affected by the fire.
LEAP Academy collected donations, as two school families were affected by the fire. They were able to collect over $1,200 in gift cards and cash for the families.
The families also received blankets, clothing and food.
