Car crashes into Winslow Twp. garage

Officials in Winslow Township are investigating a crash in which a car collided with a house.

The incident occurred Wednesday at 11:24 a.m. on the 100 block of State Highway 73 South.

Police were called to the scene for a reported vehicle crash.

An investigation showed that 83-year-old Madeline Fiore was driving a Buick Rivera north on State Highway 73, turning left into a driveway.

45-year-old Barry Nyul was driving a Ford F350 pick up north on State Highway 73, and hit Fiore's vehicle in the rear.

After the collision, Fiore's vehicle entered the driveway and crashed into a detached unoccupied garage.

Part of the roof and wall of the garage collapsed trapping Fiore in the vehicle, and emergency crews responded to safely remove her.

The building sustained heavy damage and was deemed unsafe by the township building inspector.

Fiore was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were sustained.
