DA's Warning: Calculator App Isn't What it Seems
BLOUNT COUNTY, AL (WTXF) - An Alabama Prosecutor has a warning for parents. She says an app on their smart phones may not be as innocent as they seem.
Does your child have this app-- Calculator%? You need to know what this app really is for--- and it isn't for adding numbers! Check out this new video (less than 2 minutes)!
Pamela Casey, Blount County District Attorney, posted a video on Facebook explaining what an app called "Private Photo Calculator%" is actually used for.
She urged parents to check their child's phone to see if they have downloaded the app.
The reason? That app doesn't just add numbers for your student's math homework.
The app is one of dozens available in app stores that creates private photo albums. This app in particular allows a user to enter a secret code, which leads them to the private albums.
Casey's video warning had attracted more than 2 million views on Facebook.
