Jeremiah Monell faces murder and weapons charges in the death of 35-year-old Tara O'Shea, who was killed at her Commercial Township home on Dec. 18.
Monell made his initial court appearance Wednesday, and the judge handling the case said a detention hearing for the 32-year-old Cedarville resident will be held Monday. That's when it will be decided if Monell is released or held in custody pending his trial, as per New Jersey's newly enacted bail reform laws.
Authorities have said Monell fled after the killing. An intensive air and ground search ensued and he was finally captured Monday in a wooded area in Folsom.
