Driver dies in fiery crash at pool supply store in Quakertown

A driver is dead after driving into a pool supply store in Quakertown early Friday morning.

It happened at 1:45 a.m. on the 1600 block of North West End Boulevard. The Dodge vehicle was traveling southbound when it suddenly crossed all lanes of the roadway, entering the Northbound lanes and ultimately crashing through the front door of the business 'Pool Pros.'

The driver was found deceased within the vehicle when officials arrived on the scene.

The impact of the crash led to a fire and an eventual hazmat situation. The fire is now out, and officials say there is no chemical damage to the area.

The damage to the storefront, however, is severe. After fire and police officials left the scene, workers from the supply store could be seen attempting to salvage whatever records they could from the wreckage.

The driver has not been identified at this time. If anyone has any information regarding the driver's identity or the vehicle involved (believed to be a Dodge Caliber), please contact Trooper Stewart at 215-249-9191.
