Car seat maker Evenflo is recalling one of its products after determining that it did not meet federal standards and offering a repair kit to families who would like to fix the issue.

Big picture view:

Evenflo announced that certain Revolve180 LiteMax NXT infant car seats have been recalled, but only the ones manufactured before April 1, 2025. Those produced after that date are not included in the recall. (see full list) While the repair kits are not available, the company plans to distribute them once they are. 

Why you should care:

Evenflo explained that laboratory testing found some of the car seats did not meet the performance requirements, blaming the problem on a calibration issue with the level indicator. It noted that no injuries have been reported as a result of the problem.

What you can do:

The company advised owners not to return the products to where they were purchased and to register the car seat at this website: registration.evenflo.com/evenflo/us/Carseats. Evenflo will use the list to notify owners when more information and kits are available.  Its statement announcing the recall noted that families can still use the car seat, so long as they take one of the following five steps:

  • Installed without the rotating base, following Evenflo’s installation instructions. Watch its step-by-step installation video here.
  • Installed with a compatible LiteMax™ NXT non-rotating base.
  • Installed with its current rotating base and a load leg.
  • Installed with its current rotating base and a slightly adjusted recline.  Contact the company’s ParentLink® team for specific guidance.
  • Used outside the vehicle as a carrier or with a compatible stroller.
