Fallout continues for Pennsylvania state representative Nick Miccarelli

The fallout continues for Pennsylvania state representative Nick Miccarelli. He was unable to return to the house Monday due to a protection from abuse order from a fellow lawmaker.

A member of the House sat in the body Monday with a protection from abuse order against another member. Rep. Tara Toohill says fellow House member Nick Miccarelli, of Delaware County, harassed and abused her when the pair dated back in 2012. Miccarelli denies it. His spokesperson arguing he's the target of a smear campaign.

Late last week, Toohill got a temporary protection from abuse order from a judge against her fellow Republican, which bars him from being near her at work or home.

Toohill--her Capitol office dark Monday--was on the House floor. Miccarelli remained in his Delaware County district.

Republican House Speaker Mike Turzai would not answer whether the House would move to eject Miccarelli. House Republicans have called for Miccarelli to step down. The criminal investigation of Miccarelli by the Dauphin County DA is underway and with word tonight Toohil met with investigators Monday morning it's clearly turning very serious.
