Funeral Home Owner Charged in Corpse Abuse Case
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police have arrested a woman in connection with the discovery of two decomposing bodies in a garage belonging to a funeral home in North Philadelphia.
Janet Powell-Dailey, 72, has been arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, theft, and related offenses.
Police say Powell-Daily owns the Powell funeral home on the 2400 block of North 27 th Street.
Back on the morning of August 25 th , police were called to investigate a property owned by Powell-Daily on the 2600 block of West Hagert Street. That's where police say the two bodies were discovered inside of cardboard box in a garage.
According to investigators, the families had paid Powell-Dailey for services that were never provided.
