Georgia man accused of attacking children aboard Carnival cruise while intoxicated

A Georgia man is accused of attacking two children who were playing tag aboard a Carnival cruise ship while allegedly intoxicated, before being confined to his cabin for the remainder of the voyage.

David Lawrence Crosby II, 44, of Surrency, Georgia, was arrested July 27 and charged with two counts of child abuse, according to Brevard County Sheriff's Office booking records.
The alleged incident happened July 26 aboard the Carnival Glory, which sails from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Bahamas. According to a probable cause affidavit, Crosby was running down a hallway when he encountered three children playing tag. Investigators allege he struck one child in the face, leaving the child with a bloody lip and head pain, and then hit a second child in the stomach.
Authorities said the incident was captured by the ship's security camera system.
When deputies arrested Crosby after the ship returned to Port Canaveral, he allegedly told investigators he had been "heavily intoxicated" and did not remember striking the children, according to the affidavit.

Carnival Cruise Line said its security personnel acted quickly after the incident.
"Our security team responded immediately to an incident involving an intoxicated guest aboard Carnival Glory on July 26," a Carnival spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
"The guest was confined to his cabin for the remainder of the voyage, referred to local law enforcement upon arrival in Port Canaveral, assessed a code of conduct violation fee, and placed on our Do Not Sail list. We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior."
What's next:
Court records show Crosby was released from jail July 29 after posting a total of $20,000 bond — $10,000 for each charge. He pleaded not guilty during a court appearance the following day and is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 25.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the public defender's office and a Georgia business associated with Crosby for comment.
The business's answering machine said it was closed Tuesday, the day Crosby was released from jail, because of a "family emergency."
