I-76 backed up, SEPTA, NJ Transit announce service changes

Wednesday's snowfall has become problematic for people who have braved the elements to make their way out either by car or by public transportation.

The Schuylkill Expressway was backed up in the westbound lanes near Conshocken as cars began spinning their wheels and became stuck on the road as they tried to travel uphill.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley also reports there were some lane closures on the eastbound side of the highway after a down tree struck a trailer between Girard and Spring Garden.

Visibility has also become an issue on roadways in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

New Jersey Transit has suspended service statewide until further notice.

SEPTA has detoured and suspended a number of bus lines due to the weather, and the West Trenton Regional rail line has been suspended due to a downed tree near the Trevose Station.

For more on SEPTA's service check their website.

Folks are urged not to head outside and hit the roads if they don't have to.

Stay with FOX 29 for updates.
