Lake Tahoe boat accident: 6 dead, 2 others missing

Several people were killed and multiple others are missing or hurt after a boat capsized during bad weather on Lake Tahoe Saturday.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the weather was reported to be 30 knot winds and 6-8 foot swell. FOX Weather reports that 30 knot winds is about 35 mph.

What happened:
The people were traveling in a 27-foot, gold Chris-Craft vehicle that reportedly capsized due to a large swell around 3 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to the area of D.L. Bliss State Park for a report of 10 people in the water.
Six people were killed, two were taken to the hospital and the search for two missing people is still ongoing.
Rescue workers and divers searched the area Saturday evening and resumed their search Sunday morning.
