Reason for recall:

The light fixtures included in the recall pose a potential to start a fire.

Dig deeper:

PQL said a potential issue has been identified with plastic retaining pins from one of our manufacturers used to secure the LED board inside some units. Over time, these pins may degrade, which could allow the LED board to come loose inside the fixture. If this happens, the LED strip may come in contact with the lens or other surrounding materials, creating a potential fire hazard.

Sold at:

The lights have been sold at stores nationwide including LED Indy, Universal Lighting of America, Inc, and Independent Lighting, and online from January 2016 through June 2025 for between $50 to $350.

Why you should care:

The firm has received one report of a LED light fixture catching fire. No injuries have been reported.

What you can do:

Those who bought the fixture are urged to immediately stop using it and contact PQL for free replacement retaining pins.

Those who distribute or sell the products are also urged to stop selling it immediately.
