Man Charged In Fatal West Kensington Hit and Run

WEST KENSINGTON (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police say 22-year-old Miguel Colon has turned himself in for his alleged involvement in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a young boy and injured his mother in April. This comes after police issued an arrest warrant for Colon on Friday.

Josephine Rivera, 19, and her son David Alicia, 2, were struck by a car on the 2700 block of Mashcer Street in West Kensington back in April 13.

Both mother and son were transported to the hospital. David died at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia days after the crash. His mother suffered fractures and facial injuries.

Colon is charged with: Accident Involving Death, Homicide by Vehicle, Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, and related offenses.
