Mom finds son in basement, shot in head, pronounced dead

EAST MOUNT AIRY (WTXF) - It was a horrific discovery for a local mother when she found her son's body in the basement of their home.

Police at the scene in East Mount Airy said it happened just before 10pm Monday. Ernest Jones, 29, had been shot in his head in the home at Williams and Wadsworth avenues, and they do not suspect it was a suicide.

The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Detectives searched for evidence, a motive and the killer.
