Mother-of-Three Killed on Vacation in Freak Ziplining Accident When Wind Topples Tree

(INSIDE EDITION) A South Carolina woman died last weekend while on vacation in Utah in what authorities are calling a freak ziplining accident.

The Utah Medical Examiner has determined that Lisa Lambe, 55, died of blunt force trauma due to injuries she sustained while riding the zip line at Sundance Mountain Resort.

Investigators discovered a tree in close proximity to the zipline that was broken near the top as well asevidence from the tree that shows Lambe came into contact with it, which was consistent with her injuries at the scene, the Utah County Sheriffs Office said in a statement on Saturday.

Investigators believe high winds caused the tree to break and fall into Lambe's path in what can only be called a tragic freak accident. There is no evidence of criminal wrong doing in this case, officials said.

Lambe was found unconscious and dangling from her harness. She was transported to a hospital in Provo, where she was pronounced dead.

Officials with the Sundance Mountain Resport said they are "deeply saddened" by Lambe's passing.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. Safety is and always has been a top priority for us...All spans of the Sundance ZipTour have been cleared for operations."

Lambe was on her fifth and final span of the zipline when the tragedy struck.

The mother of three is remembered as a lover of travel and adventure who was tragically killed while following her passion.

"Lisa enjoyed her family first and foremost, skiing, golf, tennis, baseball, the outdoors, traveling, especially to Europe, Australia, Argentina and Asia," reads her obituary.
