New Jersey neurologist cleared of sexual misconduct charges

A neurologist who was arrested more than 3 years ago in New Jersey on charges of sexual misconduct has been cleared. 48 women--all patients--accused doctor Syed Jaffery of kissing and groping them in his office.

FOX 29's Jeff Cole spoke with him on Thursday.

Sitting in his Egg Harbor Township home neurologist Syed Jaffery says the last several years have been horrible.

Jaffery, 57, was charged in 2015 with multiple counts of sexual misconduct with his female patients while practicing in Egg Harbor. 48 patients accused him.

Now, his attorney says Jaffery has been cleared of all criminal charges brought by the Atlantic County Prosecutor. The prosecutor had no comment. The former head of Neurology at an Atlantic City Hospital, Jaffery lost his medical license and he claims his life savings defending himself in two trials. He wants to practice again.

He's not cleared of all trouble. He faces a December sentencing for a guilty plea to misconduct by a corporate official in an alleged kickback scheme brought by the attorney general.
