New local restaurant offers pay what you can concept

A new restaurant concept officially opened in our area today. The Eat Cafe on 38th and Lancaster Ave is a partnership between Drexel University, Celebrity Chef Marc Vetri's Community Partnership and the West Philadelphia community. What makes this restaurant so unique is that it's a 3 course dining experience and you pay whatever you can afford.

GM and Chef Donnell Jones-Craven says that he believes that all people deserve a night of good food and dignity even if you're facing difficult economic times.

His hope is that the people who can afford to pay will contribute to the concept of paying it forward and make Eat Cafe a model of community partnership and business that may inspire others to do the same.
