No, That Pope Selfie Isn't Real

The Internet exploded with excitement Monday morning with a picture, supposedly from an official Vatican Twitter account, showing the Pope's first-ever selfie.

Sadly, the selfie was not real.

According to Mashable, the Instagram account that posted the selfie was not an official Vatican account. And besides, the Pontiff has taken selfies with others on multiple occasions in the past.
