Pa. man charged after missing woman's remains found in woods
WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. (AP) - A man is facing several charges in the death of a missing woman whose remains were found this week in western Pennsylvania.
Allegheny County police say Dale Terence Cooper is charged with homicide, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in the death of 46-year-old Heather Short. It wasn't known Thursday if the 36-year-old West Mifflin man has retained an attorney.
The Dravosburg woman had been reported missing since November.
County police eventually determined that Short was killed inside a West Mifflin home. They say her body was then placed in her vehicle and dumped in a wooded area of Sewickley, where her remains were found Wednesday morning.
Cooper is being held without bail until a preliminary hearing is held next week.
