Passengers Jolt Back as Ningbo Escalator Suddenly Reverses Direction

Ri Xin Jie, Ningbo, Zhejiang (STORYFUL) - An escalator connecting a subway from the Tianyi Square to a Ningbo street in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang suddenly reversed directions, causing passengers to jolt back in a domino effect on Thursday, February 18.

At least five people on the Hangzhou-made OTIS Elevator escalator were injured.

The escalator was closed for investigation, according to CCTV, who released this surveillance footage showing the incident.
